The Ice Age: The Revolutionary Period For Basketball In San Antonio

Aside from scoring titles and his trademark finger-roll, George Gervin should also be remembered for being one of the bridges between the ABA and the modern NBA, as well as his hand in the globalization of the NBA. He also deserves credit for all of the Spurs' success that came after his time because without him being there to pioneer the franchise, none of it would be possible. If the world had the media coverage and access to the technology of today when The Iceman played, he would probably be looked at differently. ***This book is Chapter 3 of the book Spurred By Greatness.***

The Admirable Admiral: The Central Figure In Establishing The Culture For Basketball's Model Franchise

David Robinson is severely underrated and underappreciated by people outside of San Antonio and by newer Spurs fans. A lot of it has to do with how his teams did before Tim Duncan came along. The Admiral is largely seen as a gifted athlete who had a great career, but also didn't care enough about basketball to have the passion to lead his team to sustained excellence. That criticism is inaccurate because he's the one that set the tone for the Spurs' culture and his impact is still ongoing to this day. All of the good fortunes the Spurs have been able to enjoy are tied directly or indirectly to The Admiral. ***This book is Chapter 5 of the book Spurred By Greatness.***

The Underappreciated Greatness Of Tim Duncan

This book is written for Tim Duncan/Spurs fans by a fan. My purpose for this creation is to give my readers an informative look at TD's career that they wouldn't get from reading any other book. I also will be taking time to pick apart false narratives that were built by non-Spurs fans and the media over the years in attempts to discredit what he accomplished in his Hall Of Fame career. Not many people will debate that TD is one of the greatest players ever, but all the arguments that I've ever heard to marginalize his achievements have been mind-numbing. When it comes to discussions on where certain players rank all-time, different people deem different things valuable throughout an athlete's career. Because of that, as time continues to pass people start becoming misinformed on certain players' impacts in the NBA's history. Easily, the player who immediately comes to mind that falls victim to misinformation or rhetoric that's completely based in fallacy is Tim Duncan.

Spurred By Greatness: The History Of Basketball's Most Storied Small Market Franchise

This book is written for Spurs fans by a Spurs fan. My purpose for this creation is to give my readers an informative look at the Spurs' history that they wouldn't get from reading any other book. I also will be taking time to pick apart false narratives that were built by non-Spurs fans and the media over the years in attempts to discredit what the team's franchise players accomplished in their Hall Of Fame careers. Another goal I had for this project was to make a case for why I feel like the Spurs' franchise players should be held in higher regard. It will be obvious to all that read these pages that I'm a diehard Spurs fan, but in my attempt to come up with possible angles for arguments in those players' favor in these discussions, my opinions WILL BE BASED ON FACTS and as impartial as possible in terms of the narratives that I present. I can't promise that readers won't feel a sense of partiality when they see how I make my case for these players against other all-time greats, but the one thing I can promise is that it's all based on the truth. In other words, you might not agree with the presentation of my narratives, but you WILL NOT find a lie in anything I write. ***Tom-Tom
